Buffalo Airfryer Chicken Wings

Crispy high-protein buffalo chicken wings made in the airfryer - juicy, spicy, and perfect as a quick meal or high-protein snack.

475 g Chicken wings
1/2 tsp Garlic granules
1/2 tsp Onion granules
To taste Ground black pepper
1/2 tsp Paprika
1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
1 tbsp Baking powder
1 tbsp Cornflour
20 sprays Spray oil
50 ml Franks Red Hot Buffalo Sauce

Step 1

Pat the chicken wings dry thoroughly using kitchen paper. In a large bowl, combine the wings with all seasonings, black pepper, baking powder, and cornflour.

Step 2

Preheat the airfryer to 200°C for 2–3 minutes.

Step 3

Place the wings in the airfryer basket in a single layer. Spray each wing lightly with oil. Air fry for 20 minutes total. At the 10-minute mark, flip the wings and spray with more oil.

Step 4

While they finish cooking, you can make a classic buffalo sauce - hot sauce in a small pan on low heat with a knob of butter and 1 tsp honey mixed until smooth. Once cooked, toss the wings in buffalo sauce or serve with extra on the side.

Recipe Notes
  • Baking powder + cornflour help create a crisp airfryer coating. For spicier wings, add cayenne pepper or extra chilli flakes to the seasoning mix. For milder wings, use Frank’s mild buffalo sauce.

Cooking Tips
  • Ensure wings are well-dried — moisture prevents crispiness. Cooking time may vary by airfryer; increase by 3–5 minutes for extra crispness. Toss in sauce immediately while hot for best coating.

Storage Instructions
  • Best eaten fresh. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the airfryer at 180°C for 5–7 minutes but be aware wings might go dry.
